From Indian Lakes
Meet From Indian Lakes – an indie rock band from California that has been making waves with their dreamy soundscapes since around 2010! The group is led by singer-songwriter Joey Vannucchi, who creates captivating melodies alongside talented musicians like drummer Chris Kellogg and bassist Enrique Gutierrez.
Joey started his musical journey as a solo artist before forming what would become From Indian Lakes while attending college at UC Santa Cruz. He named the project after a nearby lake where he used to go hiking during breaks between classes. Over time, other members joined him on this creative adventure, bringing fresh energy and ideas into the mix.
Their debut album "Acres" was released independently in 2010, showcasing Joey's introspective lyrics set against lush instrumentation. This caught the attention of record labels, leading them to sign with Triple Crown Records (now known as Equal Vision) soon afterward. Their second full-length release, titled "Able Bodies," came out in 2014 and further solidified their unique blend of atmospheric guitars, intricate rhythms, and heartfelt vocals.
In addition to these albums, they have also put forth several EPs such as "The Funeral" and "Everything Trying." Each new work brings something special; whether it be experimenting with different genres or collaborations with fellow artists, you can always expect surprises when listening to From Indian Lakes.
Throughout their career so far, the band toured extensively across North America and Europe, sharing stages with notable acts including Circa Survive, Balance & Composure, and Moving Mountains. They even performed live sessions for popular platforms like Audiotree Live and Daytrotter.
Despite some lineup changes over the years, one thing remains constant about From Indian Lakes—their dedication to creating honest, thoughtful songs that resonate deeply within listeners.
